Collage Crafts for Kids

Collage crafts for kids - the process of arranging and sticking assorted materials in various shapes, colours and textures onto a background to form a work of art.

Did you know ...
The word 'collage' comes from the French language and the verb 'coller' meaning 'to stick'.

There's no limit to the materials you can use to complete your project. The idea for your collage could be based on the changing seasons, a special event or a story you'd like to tell in pictures.

Whatever the theme of your collage, start with the basics - card, paper, scissors and glue - then add materials which remind you of the theme or event - things you have collected, perhaps.

You might add autumn leaves, pressed flowers, seashells from a trip to the beach, photos, pictures from a magazine, brochure or newspaper, sand, glitter, fabric scraps - the possibilities are endless!

Here's a small range of basic craft supplies that you might want to add to the materials you may have collected for your kids craft box already. You might like to add paper or foam shapes to highlight particular themes and elements too.
